Over 70 titles will be made available this week to demo on Xbox as part of Summer Game Fest. Summer Game Fest is described as “a new, all-digital way to unite the gaming community for a season of video game news and events from game developers and publishers. SGF will feature digital news events, playable content, in-game events, and other surprises you can experience for free from the comfort of home.”

Jessica Ronnell, ID@Xbox Events and Community Management Lead, wrote, “Games will start to be playable today, and we encourage you to continue to check your Xbox Dashboard as more will continue to become available throughout the week! Just remember that most of these demos are an early look at gameplay and may not represent the full game release, including the availability in each country as developers continue to update and refine their title ahead of launch.”

According to Xbox Wire, the remaining demos will be added throughout the week. They have also published a list of what’s available and what is coming. You won’t find any blockbusters in here, but there may be something that catches your eye, like Black Forest Games’ Destroy All Humans! The demo was short, but had great graphics in the cutscenes and the game itself. If you liked the movie Mars Attacks, then you will probably like this game. On an opposite note, if you like skateboarding, but would rather play as a bird than Tony Hawk, then SkateBIRD might be right for you. We enjoyed it.

In the store on the Xbox console, there is a new section called Game Fest Demos, but it only shows 58 of the games, but its usual demo category seems to have those and several more in addition to what was already there for a total of 147 game demos available for download. The file sizes seem small for the most part, so don’t be too worried about going over your local, evil ISP’s arbitrary data limits with these. Xbox will be adding more throughout the week.

A full list of the demos can be found here.
