Rockstar announced updates for its two most popular games today, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption II. Both GTA online and Red Dead Redemption have been plagued by what feels like an unnecessary grind for cash or gold that takes away from the enjoyment of the experience.
“For Red Dead Online, players can expect a massive new update to arrive Tuesday, July 28th featuring a new Frontier Pursuit that will introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all-new Role, plus a new Outlaw Pass, tons of community-requested features and fixes, and much more to play and discover in the months to come,” Rockstar wrote on its website.
They also said a summer update is on the way for GTA Online that will offer a “fun mix of diverse new content from the game’s massive array of experiences.” There is no word on what that would be, but as a console player, we want the mods. We want to play as police. That’s a huge one. Odds are, we won’t be getting that on Xbox, but there’s always hope. And many Xbox gamers, myself included, have agreed that we would be willing to pay for this type of mod. If you’re not familiar with it, check out Bay Area Buggs on YouTube. They have a lot of fun with it. He plays the PC version.
“Later this year players can expect more big updates for both games, including some exciting new extensions and augmentations to an existing role in Red Dead Online, and the biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location,” the Rockstar Newswire post said.
Rockstar thanked fans for submitting feedback and also promised to keep weeding out players that cheat and harass others. On a side, note Xbox Gamer hopes that Rockstar will take into consideration the fan-made GTA6 map that includes every GTA map before. That would be pretty incredible. There is still no announcement on a GTA6, but it’s obvious there will be one on the next generation consoles.
