Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, published a lengthy post celebrating the gamer and promising a safe environment in the future with plans in place for reduced toxity and hate speech. He also described the future of the console, Project xCloud, and laid out the reasons why people should join the Xbox community.
“Based on your feedback, we’re building a future where you and your friends can play the deepest, most immersive and interactive games ever created across your Xbox console, PC, and mobile devices,” Spencer said.
Packing over 12 teraflops of GPU power including new technologies like hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing and variable rate shading, and with four times the processing power of an Xbox One X, Xbox Series X enables developers to provide you with transformative gaming experiences through richer, more dynamic living worlds, more realistic AI and animations, and support for higher frame rates including support for up to 120 FPS.
Straight to Game Pass & Future XB1 Compatibility
Spencer said players don’t have to purchase Xbox Game Studios titles because they will release the same day on Game Pass. Among those coming soon is the highly anticipated Microsoft Flight Simulator. All Xbox Game Studio titles released in the next two years will be compatible with Xbox One. That way no one is forced to upgrade their console to play the latest games, according to Spencer.
Nearly Every Xbox One Title Available to Play on Series X on Day 1
“It’s our intent for all Xbox One games that do not require Kinect to play on Xbox Series X at the launch of the console. And because of the unprecedented power of Xbox Series X, most of your favorite games will load faster and look and perform many times better on the new console,” Spencer wrote.
Keep Your Controller. Keep Your Games – Smart Delivery
You can keep your controllers too because “your investments in gaming should move with you into the next generation.”
With Smart Delivery, you can purchase the Avengers when it releases on Xbox One. And play it again in all it’s glory on the Series X without having to buy it twice. Microsoft has been encouraging developers to support it.
xCloud – Microsoft’s Video Game Streaming Service
This September, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will receive Project xCloud access at no additional charge. This will give users the ability to stream games to their phone, tablet, etc using a bluetooth-enabled Xbox controller.
